This summer could be an unprecedented season to rediscover Venice, which is not only one of the most beautiful cities of art in the world but is also a seaside city, with all its islands, the beach, the possibility of beautiful tours in boat, lagoon view aperitifs at sunset.

A castle stands on a hill around a medieval watchtower, built to look over the whole Val d'Orcia, in a time when the struggles between Florence and Siena for supremacy were almost customary. In more peaceful times, in the Renaissance, the panoramic position is too happy not to transform the castle into the residential villa of Velona, ​​which is represented in the Vatican map gallery thanks to the work of the famous geographer and mathematician Ignazio Santi.

Summer has begun but unlike in previous years, those who decide to go on a holiday make the choice at the last minute. Uncertainty is a consequence of the Covid19 health emergency, so travellers expect to understand whether moving is possible. Traveling abroad increases this uncertainty, therefore most Italians are preferring destinations within the country's borders.

This is a tour that requires at least a week of time to enjoy food, wine and art in complete relaxation. For each destination I will suggest a hotel but if you prefer other accommodations you can choose alternatives. The transfers can be organized with a private driver but can also be done with a rental car or own vehicle.
