Wellness and luxury in the magnificent landscape of Tuscany

In this blog we give space to travel even to the ends of the world, however, we do not forget the fans of Italy. For them I thought of combining history with the magnificent Tuscan landscape and wellness, presenting Fonteverde, a luxury resort that awaits you in the magnificent Medici palace of San Casciano dei Bagni, a precious medieval village nestled in the rolling hills of Siena. From the airy terraces you can enjoy a timeless landscape dotted with farmhouses, monasteries and small villages, close to the vineyards of Montepulciano and Montalcino. Everywhere one breathes history and tradition, in a breathtaking naturalistic setting.

History and luxury

Commissioned in 1607 by Grand Duke Ferdinand I, the splendid mansion is a eulogy to the Italian Renaissance. The forms, materials and furnishings are meticulously detailed: everything seems to evoke the splendor of the past, while enriched with the most innovative contemporary comforts. The style of the main building is reminiscent of a grand hotel, with classic Italian furniture and long corridors with oil paintings. About half of the 78 rooms are located in the historic building, while the other half are in the adjacent, newer building. The highlight is undoubtedly the hotel's location and panoramic views. All rooms are quiet and overlook the valley or the wood at the back of the hotel.

Regenerate among nature

Fonteverde is the l ideal place to unplug and regenerate among nature and the hot springs of the unique spa. Numerous activities are offered that focus on health and wellness, as is only fitting considering the hotel's thermal waters. These include facials, massages, and medical examinations, as well as a sauna, steam room, Kneipp circuit, and, of course, thermal water treatments and pools. There is even a thermal pool and a lawn area reserved for those traveling with dogs.

Ancient flavors and modern flair in the kitchen

The palate also finds satisfaction in ancient flavors and handed-down recipes, reinterpreted with modern flair. Ferdinando Restaurant serves dinner in a refined setting. The menu is based on rustic Tuscan dishes but also offers a wide selection of lighter Mediterranean fare. For longer stays, the nutritionist and medical staff at the spa can work out individual diet plans. Lunch and light snacks are served in a more relaxed setting at the restaurant and café near the spa pools.
