Rosa Alpina the best of hospitality in the Dolomites
The foundation stone of this hotel was laid in 1850 to build a house for the priest of the small local community which had only 100 inhabitants. The parishioners also began to use it as an inn and restaurant for special guests. In the 1940s the property was purchased by Engelbert Pizzanini who already owned the Teresa Hotel. In the following years, as tourism began to grow and San Cassiano improved its road connections and provided itself with infrastructure (the first Ski Lift was built in 1957) the Rosa Alpina continued to expand the availability of beds and gradually transformed in an increasingly glamorous hotel. In the 70s it became a three-star hotel and some apartahotel deriving from stabling were added, in the 80s it became 4-star hotel, in the 90s the prestigious St. Hubertus restaurant opened and the new Spa Beauty was inaugurated with 500 square meters of white marble, the dining room completely renovated and the first suites made available.
With the beginning of the second millennium the further leap in quality: it became part of the Relais Chateaux chain, also receiving important guests such as Prince Albert of Monaco, while the St. Huberts restaurant obtained two Michelin stars. Since 2007 it has become a 5-star hotel and is affiliated with Virtuoso, and the magnificent loft suites have been added to the accommodation offer. There are many awards achieved by this resort for the quality of the services. To name one, the prestigious Condè Nast Traveler Readers' Spa Award 2010 for the category "Best Spa Hotels in Europe. The elegant accommodations, to which the Penthouse has been added, 180 m² of finely furnished spaces in a contemporary and alpine style, the panoramic terrace with a view of the surrounding woods and mountains, the Spa and the superb cuisine we have spoken of, everything in this hotel is designed to give guests not only a note of exclusivity but also the feeling of being treated by special guests. The essence of the mountain and the elegance of luxury find the maximum expression in the Chalet, separate from the hotel to ensure maximum privacy but with a convenient connection, 310 square meters of beautifully furnished space with private outdoor Finnish sauna.
You just have to relax in the hotel or dedicate yourself to your outdoor activities, including golf in some seasons, immersing yourself in the wonderful nature of Alta Badia.
